Last night, I worked till 2:00AM printing, photocopying, hole-punching, sorting, and putting in folders, 11 copies of a proposal we are submitting. I started at 4:00PM.
My back was killing me, my feet were swollen. As the fumes of the toner and the heat emanating from the copier went to my head, all I could think about was "Thank God I got a Masters degree...it's definitely given me invaluable skills in being a secretary".
Today, came to work at 11:00AM but am still dead tired.

Hello !?! I feel the same way!
Everytime I spend an entire day in our Central Filing room doing an inventory of what documents are there, or say the 3 times a week I have to type minutes from a meeting, I think to myself "I could have totally dropped out in 5th grade and I would still be exceptional at my job." Thank you, Johns Hopkins!
lol. I don't know if you could have been exceptional at typing minutes without your degree from Hopkins...I mean, all the biostatistics, epidemiology (kill me) and infectious diseases classes did come in handy. Like what kind of ointment to put on a paer cut and how to shift your weight from your left leg back to your right to avoid swollen ankles. Oy.
If it's of any reassurance to you two, even my bosses have to do tedious stuff... I think you really need to be super important to avoid all the annoying stuff :).
Speaking of annoying stuff, I think your comments board hates me Dorothee... It keeps not working when I want to write a snide comment... Hhmm, come to think of it, I bet you configured it that way :)

Well, if you get to do a PhD then you can make coffee for everyone in the office...
A definite promotion.
