I'm not knocking temping but...

...today I was filling in for the receptionist for a couple of hours and some colleagues stuck up a conversation in front of my desk. They eventually patted my hand and said: "I'm sure you'll find a good job soon, a lot of our receptionists find good employments".

To which I replied with politeness: "Well I certainly hope so, you see, I used to be a Project Manager in Congo; but that's very kind of you".

Chick, having ambition is good but may spoil your life. You should be aware that there are not enough jobs in the Western World for skilled, talented people with ambition. Further the game is not fair, most of junior vice presidents call 'Uncle George' the senior president. Diversify your life, have more interests. Do not let a bad job poison your liver.
What? do you want to know whether I succeeded on this strategy? ehr ..well.. , my times were much harder, you know. Everything is easier for you soft kids now. Uhmm. Strudel

p.s. Do not forget to paint fingernails red. That man approaching your Reception could be Paul Getty Sixth.
