Carl the Pilot was in town a few days ago and had dinner with me. We invited a roomate of mine and proceeded to talk non-stop about our experiences in the Congo for a few hours.
Oblivious to her obvious sign of boredom (yawning, slowly fluttering eyes, fuzzy gaze and faint smile), we just talked, and talked, and talked some more.
I guess our adventures are not exciting as initially thought. Oh well, no matter, it was fun!
I really don't want to spoil the fun, but Carl has some awesome news. Update your bloody blog Carl!

It's much more fun to get together with Congo folks to reminisce when you don't have to go back!
Mmm... how I wish I could have listened in on all of those stories!
She wasn't bored. She was just really, really, really tired. We were scintilating (sic).
I will update the blog.
Just checking in today to see how you are doing. Hoping all is well with you and that you won't have to change jobs again anytime soon... unless there is a huge raise in salary, title, your own executive offices, and a chauffeur-driven company car in the deal.
Carl the Pilot was in D.C.? How's he been doing? It's great that you both continue to blog and that you keep an interest in what's shakin' down in the Congo. I did see something a bit disturbing over at Carl's blog and it read:
"I will be home for a month or two then back out to, I am hoping, Iraq or Afghanistan...."
Damn Carl, wasn't the Congo hot enough for you? Good luck Carl, you'll be in a lot of folks prayers if you end up in Iraq or Afghanistan. Remember on takeoffs to keep the "pedal to the metal" and roll that sucker till you're out of small arms fire range. Keep those flares handy too, just in case they try to get fancy.
